JOHN’S STORY: WEDDING BELLS

John first came to the Bayview Towers Community Center in Stamford, Connecticut as a community member. He was in the process of getting married to a resident, Fabie, and moving into an apartment at Bayview Towers. The resident services coordinator helped John write a résumé and begin a job search. He began working full-time at Costco and part-time at a nearby restaurant. John and Fabie got married in an informal ceremony, and Fabie gave birth to a baby boy. As a result of the money he saved from both of his jobs, John paid for his drivers’ permit, as well as a beautiful wedding for his wife. John is currently studying to get his driver’s license, working at Home Depot, and taking an English course at Norwalk Community College.
