As Chair of the Board of Trustees, I am honored to welcome you this evening, as we shine a powerful light on Operation Pathways—the heartbeat of NHPF’s mission. Tonight’s gala represents more than an evening of celebration; it is a demonstration of the life- changing impact our on-site resident services

have in communities nationwide.

Last year, more than 50% of families across our communities—approximately 5600 people—took advantage of our programs that provide access to education, job readiness, health and wellness, and financial empowerment. These resident-led programs provide opportunities to live, and most importantly, to thrive. These outcomes show what is possible when residents have the tools, trust, and support to shape their own pathways to success. I am deeply proud of how NHPF and Operation Pathways continue to innovate in response to the evolving needs of the residents of our housing. This gala is both a reflection of our progress and an invitation—to our supporters, partners, and friends—to join us in expanding this vital work. Together, we are demonstrating what is possible when we invest in people, in communities, and in the belief, where you live truly matters. Welcome and thank you for being here this evening as we celebrate the communities we build and spotlight the residents who bring them to life. At The NHP Foundation and Operation Pathways, we know a home is more than four walls—it’s the foundation for health, stability, and opportunity. We preserve and create housing, which promotes well-being and reminds more than 25,000 residents of their worth and value. Through our on- site programs, residents gain access to the proven

success of family-centered coaching, as well as continuing education, wellness initiatives, and financial resources. We transform lives every day, empowering families to reach goals and achieve lasting impact. The results speak for themselves: nearly 85% of adult residents report confidence in achieving financial goals with coaching support, while 100% of participants in our Pathway-to-Work Summer Teen Internship program gained skills to budget, save, and manage money. The findings show how trust, consistency, and connection turn affordable housing into opportunity housing. When we meet individuals where they live and connect them with the services they need, good things happen. In a time of uncertainty and change, the need for these programs has never been greater. Families across the country rely on the stability affordable housing and robust resident services provide. Your generosity ensures our communities remain strong, resilient, and full of promise—no matter what challenges lie ahead. At Operation Pathways, we believe that the most powerful change happens when residents collaborate and empower each other to create vibrant communities. Our role is to listen, support, and provide the tools that allow families to define success on their own terms—and the results continue to inspire us every day. Take Ms. Collins, who, with guidance from her Resident Services Coordinator and our partner Esusu, built her credit for the first time in her life. That simple step opened the door to financial

independence and dignity. Or Miss Linda, who found purpose and connection by volunteering at her community’s food bank, ultimately helping transform her building into a close-knit network of neighbors who look after one another and worry less about food security. These stories remind us that empowerment doesn’t come from programs designed for residents—it comes from programs shaped by them. This resident-driven approach is the foundation of our four Pathways and is driven by our commitment to Family-Centered Coaching. Across our portfolio, residents help design and refine the initiatives that meet their unique needs. Whether it’s organizing wellness classes, leading savings workshops, or participating in youth internship opportunities, their involvement turns programs into movements and housing into true communities.
