Owing to her long residency at the property, I asked her for some suggestions about Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) programming. She explained that she hadn’t had a chance to participate before so she couldn’t offer any insight or suggestions at that time. I invited her to participate and she said she would consider it. After a few more interactions between Ms. Littles and myself, she decided to attend an event. The Mark Twain Honored with 2020 Landmarks Illinois Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Preservation Award NHPF is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a 2020 Landmarks Illinois Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Preservation Award in recognition of its preservation work on the storied Mark Twain Hotel SRO in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. The annual awards program, now in its 27th year, honors exceptional historic preservation projects and the people saving important places in Illinois. The Mark Twain received the award in the category of Rehabilitation. The 2020 award winners were honored at a virtual awards ceremony October 21, 2020. In addition to an award, recipients receive a $1,000 prize. neighborhood.
