This very busy quarter saw a flurry of development and acquisition activity, awards bestowed upon NHPF properties and individuals, and our 5th Annual Symposium. We are so grateful for the outpouring of support for the Symposium, an evening of meaningful gathering, celebration and education.

NHPF’s Latest Transactions During the past four months, NHPF acquired Cardinal Ridge Apartments in Kansas City, MO. The 160-unit former 9% tax credit deal includes LIHTC, market rate, and public housing units for seniors and families. NHPF also received funding for the construction of 41 rental apartments at 17 Mississippi Avenue in the Congress Heights area in Washington, DC’s Ward 8 and the organization closed on the financing to construct replacement permanent supportive affordable housing, Temenos Place Apartments in Houston, Texas.

The NHPF 5th Annual Symposium Thank you to everyone who helped NHPF achieve its fundraising goals by contributing to our 5th Annual Symposium, A Decade of Rental Housing Vulnerability: Lessons Learned from Financial Crisis to Coronavirus. We hope you enjoyed attending in person or virtually and learning from speakers including “in-the-trenches” Mayors Francis Suarez of Miami, Sylvester Turner of Houston, and Justin Elicker of New Haven; passionate social activist Kimberly Latrice Jones; and expert industry analyst Andrew Jakabovics of Enterprise Community Partners. Other News from this Quarter An interview with Mecky Adnani, SVP, Acquisitions, NHPF, on women in affordable housing was featured on the Mission Success: Women in Multifamily podcast.
